This strategic investment in MRL directly supports the FY 2025 National Defense Industrial Strategy Implementation Plan. MRL’s $25.2 million award is specifically allocated to demonstrate a groundbreaking SRM prototype production capability. This initiative will enable the Department of War to achieve agile production of SRM metallic cases through MRL’s advanced additive manufacturing processes, leveraging its scalable robotic manufacturing cells.
A pivotal feature of MRL’s proposed manufacturing capabilities is the inherent ability to routinely and quickly switch between materials and component designs, offering unprecedented flexibility and responsiveness to the defense supply chain.
